Marjie Shrimpton invites you to forget your troubles and join her for a night inspired by the legendary Judy Garland. Weaving together stories and songs from Judy’s life and her own, Marjie attempts to answer the big question: “What Would Judy Do” (or sing) if she were trying to chase our cares away today? What Would Judy Do? A Judy Garland Cabaret, directed and co-conceived by Michael Pesce, debuted in New York City in January 2018 to a sold-out audience downtown at the historic Duplex Cabaret Theatre, earning praise from Cabaret Scenes Magazine saying, “Shrimpton stunned with a musical tribute to her hometown hero.” Marjie was then invited to bring the show to Minneapolis and Grand Rapids, MN, hometown to both she and Judy, last fall. She now returns to New York for one final, revamped run of the show at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Judy’s passing.

Amanda Bruton is an NYC based actor/writer/comedienne/singer who originally hails from that exotic place over the bridge and through the tunnel known as New Jersey. Amanda is best known for her critically acclaimed performance as Grandma Addams in the International Tour of The Addams Family Musical, directed by Jerry Zaks. Recent TV appearances include The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Orange Is The New Black, Billions, and High Maintenance. After a couple of sold out runs downtown at the Duplex, Amanda brings her solo show Still UnCastable to the Laurie Beechman Theatre for one night only! Still UnCastable explores the concept of uncastability in the entertainment industry and in life. Through personal anecdotes, parody, sketch comedy, and song, Bruton comments on Hollywood and society at large in the era of #timesup and sounds the call for women to own their power and embrace their uncastability.

“The show is Co-conceived & Directed with steady and spot on pacing by the keen eye of Michael Pesce, who clearly knows his artist well.” - Broadway World

What started in Michael Pesce's living room with friends, a little wine, spinach dip and a piano has become an annual live event at the Beechman Theater. The Old Fashioned Piano Party is an evening of friends, family and song hosted and performed by Michael Pesce and featuring some of the most charming and talented musical theater performers in NYC.
